Government-sourced, independently compiled
All rent and wage data is sourced directly from the Rating and Valuation Department (RVD) and the Labour Department, HKSAR. We do not use broker estimates or proprietary indices. Data is compiled quarterly and cross-referenced against official gazette publications.
Transparent and reproducible
Index calculations follow the RVD's published methodology. Base year 1999 = 100 for rent indices. Wage benchmarks are derived from statutory minimum wage rates plus market premium surveys conducted annually across 40+ cleaning contractors in Hong Kong.
Quarterly updates
Market Data pages are reviewed and updated each quarter following the release of RVD's Private Offices Rental Index and any Labour Department minimum wage adjustments. The last update was Q2 2025.
